Only an hour ago phpBB 3.0.2 was released to the public! If you’re like me and always decide to upgrade your blogs and forums to the latest stable versions immediately when they are released, then you may enjoy a post I will be putting together on the update process from phpBB 3.0.1 to 3.0.2.
Since many of us, including myself, tend to search around from time to time online for simplified and quick guides for these tedious little tasks…I will be writing a simplified list of steps or at least explainations to the steps that are already provided with the upgrading packages.
Maybe my explanations to some of the steps will help you understand just a little bit better what is going on when you are updating phpBB.
Well, I’ll keep you posted here with a link to the guide when I complete it. Until then, don’t break your phpBB 3.0.1 forums.
Today (well, part of yesterday as well) Jasmine and I spent a while looking through her pictures from Peru. She has some really excellent pictures in the ~560 that she took. It’s a really good thing that I lowered the picture quality a notch or two one my camera before she left. The memory card had about 20% of the space left when she returned…so if I hadn’t thought of that then she would have ran out of space early and only brought home around ~300 Peru pictures and missed out on so many pictures during trips towards the end.
Along with the images that she took, she also has some ~900 that one of her friends, Chris, from the trip put on some cds for her. His images are also great, but far less of them actually have her included in the group shots for some reason.
If you have a flicker account and want to checkout her pictures then you can check them out on my flickr photostream, but you’ll have to request me as a friend first..as I don’t want my family pictures and pictures of me in general available to random strangers across the Internet at wild. I’m sure Jasmine wouldn’t like that either.
Just sent a request via flickr and I’ll hook you up with some sweet Peru pictures though!

Cleaning Jasmine’s apartment for a sweet welcome home party! Her room is a mess, but we’re progressing….gotta have room for the party roaming. Off to get some pizza in the living room…
So I woke up early and got to the airport today to pickup Jasmine! The flight may have landed on time (12:05 PM), but it took another 50 minutes or so before they came through the terminal. I also made sure to get there early…around 10:30…so I would have plenty of time to find parking and find the terminal where she would come out, but honestly it was all very simple!
After picking her up I took her out to the awesome subway on Western Blvd. here in Raleigh…so we sat and ate while she told me about a lot of her fun stories. Seems like she had a ton of awesome times and memories in Peru!
I lent my camera to her as well and she took a good amount of pictures, nearly filling the memory stick with ~560 pictures of her with friends and scenery! There are some great pictures from the Inca Trail as well. If you’re a friend of mine on flickr then you can check out her photos on my flickr account at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyleabaker/.
Well, today I get to drive down to Raleigh and have a “Guy night out”. Haha, I’ll be alone so that’s why it’s funny, but it should be a fun night away from home and hanging out all night doing whatever I want to do. Then tomorrow I get to pick up Jasmine from the airport!
Hopefully I can fit a beach trip in soon, but until then I’ll take advantage of my time away from home and chilling in Raleigh! Actually I’ll be staying in Cary tonight, but Raleigh after that. Hopefully they’ll have a pool where I’m staying! I haven’t looked into the options yet, just got a room.
There’s something about staying in hotels that I’ve always loved. I still have no clue what it is really, but it’s like getting to do whatever you want like your own apartment or whatever with the benefits of not having to clean up anything…and just take advantage of everything that…that’s the fun part.
Well, I better get on the road! Maybe I’ll blog again when I get to the room.
From Opera 9.50, cache files no longer use file extensions. The following will add advanced search, thumbnails and sorting to opera:cache.
- Copy language file (*.lng) from Opera installation directory to your profile (Help → About Opera → Paths → Opera Directory).
- Open language file in any text editor and replace string for -1713924769 with modified one.
- Go to Preferences → General → Language → Details… → Use Interface language → Choose… and select modified language file.
- Restart Opera.
- Type opera:cache in address field to see extra features.

Advanced search, thumbnails & sorting in opera:cache
Note: You have to update modified language file, whenever you install major version of Opera.

Haha, I just had to.
So today is my 22nd Birthday! I’m just now to the point where every birthday becomes more and more of a disappointment, lol. It’s cool up to 21, but after that nothing special happens and you’re only getting older.
Hopefully I can make something fun happen, even without my baby gurl Jasmine here with me..she’s in Peru and only one more day between today and her landing!
Jasmine, I hope you’re making me a sweet Peruvian birthday cake or something and blowing out the candles for me down there baby. It’s not going to be the same without you around for my birthday this year!
Well, eight more birthday’s until I’m officially getting old. I’ve got to make the most of my birthday’s before then, haha, so wish me luck!
Only one more day until I get to celebrate my birthday with Jasmine out on the town and then later celebrate her return from Peru! Hooray!
Columnist Andrew Brown, of The Guardian, wrote a nice column yesterday about why he’s switching back to Opera from Firefox 3.
“With the release of Firefox 3, I mounted a private celebration: I went back to using Opera 9.5 as my main browser. This wasn’t just perversity. Firefox without its add-ons is clearly inferior to Opera. Firefox with enough add-ons to make it really useful is very much slower. And Opera has one advantage over all the competition which is enough to outweigh all its other faults to me.”

Happy Independence Day! I hope everyone made plans to celebrate! I’ll be celebrating in my home town..maybe with my family and Jasmine’s family. Jasmine will be celebrating in Peru (lucky)!
I hope to hear some awesome stories about everyone’s 4th experience this year, haha. Don’t get too hungover though…where ever you are, you best be celebrating my birthday on the 5th! Big Two-Two, haha. I’m going to be “old” in less than 24 hours. You know…21 is great…after that it’s all down hill, lol.
Well, off to sleep to prepare for my favorite holiday of the year! Oh and the watermelon is an essential piece of the fun…so everyone indulge in as much watermelon as you can! Maybe popcorn too, but be responsible. Don’t eat and drink.
