Here’s to a weekend of studying to come

It looks like I’ll be spending most of my weekend studying and preparing for a political science exam on Monday.

I really need to get around to updating a thing or two on my site, starting with the Opera 9.5 Standard - Lite Compact skin…so look forward to seeing some updates over the next few days.

Orbitfiles: 6GB of online storage waiting for you!

Orbitfiles I just came across a very handy website called Orbitfiles where you get 6GB of online storage and the best part is that you can join it now for free!

As they say in their welcome email:

…you can store and access any type of files - documents, videos, music files, presentations, photos and many others from any computer at any place on earth.

While 6GB can easily be filled with an average photo album collection, it can still go a long way. You could use Orbitfiles to share a download with someone or the entire world or even use it to keep a playlist of songs that you like to have access to at all times. :P

If 6GB of free storage isn’t enough for you then you can even get unlimited storage for $5/month.

I’m going to give this service a good test drive, but I think 6GB will be enough for me for a little while.

Mid-Term is over…time for some peace

I just handed in my Mid-Term that I was slaving over for so long. I feel pretty good about it, having time to do pretty several extensive checks on most of the problems to make sure they were correct.

Now I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of the day (beautiful weather here..81 degrees right now and sunny :D ).

I’d really like to just waste time on the computer as I usually do in my free time, but I think I need to catch up on some sleep. So until next time..have a great day! ;)

Who likes all-nighters?

It looks like I’ll be pulling an all-nighter in the back of the 9th floor book stacks to get this mid-term completed on time. That’s including time to go over it and make sure I haven’t made any dumb mistakes…hopefully. :D

I best get back to working..

Fall break is over..back at school

I’m back at school after a 4 day weekend for Fall break. I really needed that break from school, but unfortunately one of my professors with no life decided it would be best to show everyone how much he hates his life by giving us a take home mid-term for the break.

People like that should be taxed more, haha. :P

Anyways, I didn’t really get anything done on it at home other than giving it a quick look-over. I will most likely be very busy for the next few days. :(

In other news, Ubuntu 8.10 is being released in just 18 days on October 30th! I added a little banner on the side to hopefully catch the attention of a few people who might be interested.

Hulu is pretty sweet, so is ALF

For the past few days I’ve been hooked on watching TV shows on Hulu.com.

It’s free and you can find a lot of shows on there with all episodes from all seasons.

I’ve been watching the show ALF lately just because I remembered it from when I was very little and wanted to catch up on what it was about.

There are minimal advertisements, so it easy to watch. Not nearly as bad as watching something on TV these days. :P

Also, if you’re into watching shows on the Internet for free and legally then you’ll be happy to know that YouTube has now started broadcasting shows by CBS with minimal advertising as well.

I haven’t checked them out yet, but I probably will tomorrow.

Catching up with friends

So I stayed up much longer than I should have tonight, but I did get to catch up with a long time friend (geeky online friend) in the Opera IRC snapshots chat channel.

It was a fun chat and I didn’t realize that he had moved out of the country, but hey…we all have to leave at one point or another…but some of us never come back. :P

In geek world you might under stand this, but chances are…you’re not going to understand this cause you’re either looking for instructions and a how-to for some Linux thing or a web design tip or just a good friend who is faithful and reads my blog daily ( :P Hannah, thanks). The funny thing is that this whole conversation and catching up started from this:

(03:01:06 AM) kyleabaker: quak
(03:04:17 AM) fearphage: imposter

Anyways, I came to find out that phred had moved to London! Wow, and to think that we were planning a party meet up in Georgia some time over the summer that never materialised.

Anyhoo, short story and I’m tired so I’ll write a techy article sometime after I wake up…actually, make that sometime after my test. Wish me luck!
