I’m about to fall asleep to one of the best movies of all time. If any of you have Netflix then you can watch it instantly here. The movie is Crossroads (1986).
It’s one of the best movies of all time in my opinion and Brandon and I used to watch it together and just jam out trying to be guitar gods, haha. Now I realize that we are (and were) far from what they are in this movie, but at the time I still had hope. Now I’ve lost all hope in being good on guitar, but it’s definitely a movie that encourages me to play all the time.
Hopefully one day I can at least play one show to impress someone, haha, but not for a while. Until then I count on my good friend Kyle Phelps to teach me some more about guitar and to help be grow. Maybe I’ll even post some videos eventually.
Kyle, which formed Thursday east of the Bahamas, was moving north Sunday morning.
So apparently I’m famous yet again! Hurricane Kyle is making it’s way towards the US and Canada.
Kyle, a Category 1 hurricane, is forecast to make landfall late Sunday or early Monday near the border between Maine and Canada.
As of 11 a.m. Sunday, Kyle’s center was about 140 miles (225 kilometers) east-southwest of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and 355 miles (570 kilometers) southwest of Halifax, Nova Scotia, the National Hurricane Center said.
The storm formed Thursday east of the Bahamas.
Kyle’s maximum sustained winds were near 80 mph (130 kph), with higher gusts. The winds had strengthened since Saturday night, when maximum sustained winds were barely above hurricane strength at about 75 mph, forecasters said.
A Category 1 storm has winds from 74 to 95 mph.
Kyle was moving north Sunday morning at near 24 mph and was expected “to pass east of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the coast of Maine later today and tonight,” the forecasters said.
It’s been a long while since the last Hurricane Kyle. Maybe this one will be more memorable, but in a safe way.
Well, today I get to drive down to Raleigh and have a “Guy night out”. Haha, I’ll be alone so that’s why it’s funny, but it should be a fun night away from home and hanging out all night doing whatever I want to do. Then tomorrow I get to pick up Jasmine from the airport!
Hopefully I can fit a beach trip in soon, but until then I’ll take advantage of my time away from home and chilling in Raleigh! Actually I’ll be staying in Cary tonight, but Raleigh after that. Hopefully they’ll have a pool where I’m staying! I haven’t looked into the options yet, just got a room.
There’s something about staying in hotels that I’ve always loved. I still have no clue what it is really, but it’s like getting to do whatever you want like your own apartment or whatever with the benefits of not having to clean up anything…and just take advantage of everything that…that’s the fun part.
Well, I better get on the road! Maybe I’ll blog again when I get to the room.
Haha, I just had to. So today is my 22nd Birthday! I’m just now to the point where every birthday becomes more and more of a disappointment, lol. It’s cool up to 21, but after that nothing special happens and you’re only getting older.
Hopefully I can make something fun happen, even without my baby gurl Jasmine here with me..she’s in Peru and only one more day between today and her landing!
Jasmine, I hope you’re making me a sweet Peruvian birthday cake or something and blowing out the candles for me down there baby. It’s not going to be the same without you around for my birthday this year!
Well, eight more birthday’s until I’m officially getting old. I’ve got to make the most of my birthday’s before then, haha, so wish me luck!
Only one more day until I get to celebrate my birthday with Jasmine out on the town and then later celebrate her return from Peru! Hooray!
Well, I’ve spent the majority of my day preparing for a Calculus exam that I have in the morning tomorrow. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to blog much this week, but I try to update you once in a while! The bad thing about this week is that as soon as I finish working on one thing…I can’t stop to take a break at all because something else is due.
What a hectic week! It’ll be nice to get to dead week and have free time to prepare for exams and not worry about homework conflicting with tests, etc. Let me know if you have any tips for Vector Calculus!
After stumbling through some YouTube videos today, I came across one that I thought was really cool. It’s a short video of people summing up who they feel like they are in one word or a short phrase. It’s actually pretty neat how most of the people interviewed just fit their answer perfectly, while others are clearly just trying to improve their appearance. The second answer is just like…what the heck did he ask her? “It’s like a mesh of colors..and like..pict-chas.” The “dynamic” guy cracks me up. Just the way he says it (~1:47).
I’m gonna have to go with the “Awesome” guy for me too, haha. Just kidding. I think my answer would be..
unscheduled
So now it’s your turn. So let’s hear it! “How would you describe yourself in one word or phrase?“
Well, I just officially started working with the OperaWatch crew to help edit and contribute articles! If you’re not familiar with Opera or OperaWatch then you should checkout the welcoming article here! This looks like it will be a lot of fun!
If you know me at all then you will know the four things that I love most in my life:
First and for most is my love for my lady Jasmine. If you barely know me then you know that I love Jasmine far more than anything in this life (that was edited from this world to this life to imply more meaning ). She’s my family, and family is always number one!
If you know me at all then you know that I love the blues. Not many people and rock the blues better than Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. If you’ve not experienced the blues then I demand that you look into these two guitarists! Especially Stevie Ray playing Little Wing or Voodoo Chile. If you’re not in love with these songs then you probably have some issues. J/k, but these are great songs! I want to hear some Clapton and Vaughan played at my funeral. I’ll be listening.
The web! I’m all about evolution and the web is the next step for human interaction as we know it! You better believe that the web is going to change you life!
Peppermints! My favorite flavor in the entire world! Everyone likes peppermint, but I love it.
Let me know what your favorite things in life are!
Me and my gal for Halloween. That was a “Super” night on Franklin Street (Chapel Hill). Jasmine had a blast washing out the streets with her super soaker gun. She helped make Chapel Hill a safer place that night. I was just there for her protection, haha. No body messes with a Ninja.
That was fun, but next year I think I will give good ole Hillsborough Street a try. Anyone with me?
So I’m now officially 21 years old. Yay. I’ve gotten several emails from forums that I’ve a member of wishing me a happy birthday and several facebook and myspace comments..so thanks everyone who has wished me a happy birthday! Soon to be at the beach to top of the celebration! Happy Birthday to anyone else who was born on July 5th. I also hope everyone (in the USA) had a great Independence Day!
